Terms

The terms for this site and the software.

The software is open source and governed by its licenses; a paid engagement is governed by its own agreement. These terms cover this website and set the basics.

This website

This website is provided for information. We work to keep it accurate, but it is offered as is, and we do not warrant that every statement is complete or current. Nothing here is legal, regulatory, or compliance advice, and it is not a promise that any regulation requires or blesses a particular design.

The software

The MakerChecker software is open source. The core is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and the client SDK under Apache-2.0, and your use of the software is governed by those licenses. A commercial license is available for organizations whose policies preclude AGPL. Any paid engagement, pilot, or commercial license is governed by the separate written agreement for it, which controls if it conflicts with anything here.

Your data

The software is self-hosted. You run it in your own environment and you are responsible for how you configure and operate it. We do not receive or process the data the software governs. How this website handles the little data it collects is described in our privacy notice.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, MakerChecker is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from this website or the open-source software. This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law. Rights and obligations for a paid engagement are set by its own agreement.
